“Christians Are Against Science”

I’ve heard a lot of people say that Christians are against science.

And that we can’t believe in science if we also believe in God.

However, this is nothing but a misunderstanding.

Science is also one of God’s creations.

It is the study of the natural world and the laws that govern it.

And it is simply a tool that helps us understand how the world works.

Faith, on the other hand, is the belief in God and His plan for our lives.

And what most people don’t realize is that faith and science can coexist.

The Bible tells us that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1) and science helps us understand how and when that happened.

For example, the evolution theory helps us understand species’ development on earth.

While the Bible tells us that God is the creator of everything.

Both faith and science can be used to understand the beauty and complexity of God’s creations.

Another critical aspect of the relationship between faith and science is in the area of ethics.

Science helps us understand the natural world and the consequences of our actions.

But it is our faith that guides us in making moral decisions based on the teachings of God.

The Bible tells us “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40).

People should continue to evolve according to God’s Will and help one another.

Science is simply a tool for that.

And we are not against it like most atheists think.

To make a long story short, science helps us understand how things work.

While faith helps us understand why they exist in the first place.

Together, they can give us a deeper understanding of the world and our place in it.

So let us continue to explore the world around us, with the guidance of our faith and the understanding provided by science.

Together, we can work to fulfill the purpose that God has for our lives and make a positive impact on the world.

  1. My actual university degree is in biology. The science actually supports not only the existence of God, but His active involvement in the universe and our lives.

  2. very good, we have no evidence for macro {darwinian} evolution, micro evolution{adaptation among species}yes we do, we have many scientific facts to point to our creator, the “big bang” fine tuning of universe and first life are some. You are correct Science can help us understand how things work.

  3. “For example, the evolution theory helps us understand species’ development on earth.”
Genesis 1 refutes evolution (which is a theory and can’t be proved). The irreducible complexity of every part of creation means that it had to be complete from day 1. There can be variation within species (eg animal breeding) but crossing species makes them infertile. Darwin knew nothing of dna or chromosomes. Evolution theory excludes any design or pre planning a relies solely on chance, random mutation. The odds are simply unbelievable. Don’t try and marry the Bible with evolution! Jesus created all things from the beginning!
Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Col 1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

    1. To say that evolution is a theory and can’t be proven is correct but an irrelevant point, no idea can be proven nor disproved completely. For instance, if I have only ever seen white swans I can reasonably conclude that all swans are white and accept this as fact based on my observations. But have I proven that all swans are white? No, because I can never be certain that I have observed all swans; it only takes the observation of one black swan for my conclusion to be false. Does this mean that up until that observation my theory was incorrect? No.

Evolution is based on countless observations which support the theory to the point of it being accepted as fact. So far, it accurately explains how organisms change, and no “black swan” of evolution has been observed. If evolution is not true, how do you explain the changes in living organisms that we can observe? Why have dog breeds changed appearance? Why are our crops vastly different now compared to a couple 100 years ago? Why are some humans lactose intolerant and others not? How do bacteria become resistant to antibiotics?
