Why God Wants You To Look People In The Eye

It feels like everyone is glued to their screens nowadays.

(Especially teenagers).

Whatever is going on in their smartphones is more important than everything around them.

They hold most of their conversations in there, and they rarely look at each other’s faces.

It seems harmless

But have you ever had a conversation with someone who refused to make eye contact with you?

It feels like they are not present. Like you’re talking to a wall.

Eye contact has almost become an endangered species.

Looking people in the eye, however, is an essential part of our faith.

You will see why in a minute.

As Christians, we love one another and strive to be a reflection of Christ’s love.

One of the simplest yet most profound ways to demonstrate this love is by truly seeing the people around us.

And this starts with making eye contact.

When we look into someone’s eyes, we are essentially saying, “I see you. You matter. You are important to me.”

This has a profound impact on our relationships and our faith.

In our Holy Texts, Jesus often looked deeply into people’s eyes as He ministered to them, healed them, and forgave them.

When we make eye contact with others, we unlock the door to a deeper level of communication and understanding.

By looking someone in the eye, we signal that we are present, we are listening, and we genuinely care.

This allows us to connect with others on a more intimate level.

To share our joys and our sorrows, and to walk alongside one another on this journey of faith.

Eye contact is essential for our health and our spirits.

So, I encourage you to take a moment, look the people around you in the eye, and truly see them for who they are. Beloved children of God.

As we do this, we will greatly deepen our relationships.

And we will understand one another like Jesus understood His principles.

This is how you make eye contact with confidence.

Let us always remember that.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day & How To Make Sure You Listen When God Speaks To You

Someone once asked me, “I have reached out to God so many times but didn’t ever hear back from Him. Doesn’t He want to talk to me?”

This heart-wrenching question is not uncommon. Especially during the trying times we are currently going through.

When we find ourselves in the midst of storms, it’s natural to yearn for a clear, reassuring voice from above. A voice that would calm our troubled hearts and affirm that we are not alone.

I want to assure you that God does indeed hear you.

And he does more than that. He always responds.

But His responses might not be what we expect.

He often communicates through subtle hints. Seemingly insignificant events that nudge us in the right direction.

These are the instances that we often overlook, dismiss as mere coincidence, or perhaps fail to acknowledge in our quest for more evident signs of His presence.

The buddy who reaches out just when we’re feeling low.

The unexpected resolution to a lingering pain.

The gentle, comforting breeze on a particularly challenging day.

These are God’s whispers, His silent assurances that He is with us, guiding and protecting us.

The key to noticing these instances is developing a heightened sense of awareness.

Amid the noise and commotion of our experiences, it requires us to quieten our minds and attune our hearts to the subtleties of His divine orchestration.

It’s about recognizing His voice in the silence, His presence in the solitude, His guidance in the seemingly mundane.

I encourage you to pause, breathe, and keenly observe the world around you.

Look for these subtle indications of His presence.

They might be unassuming and easy to overlook, but they are there, waiting to be found, affirming His guidance and love.

God’s communication often comes in the softest of whispers, rather than in roaring thunders.

So keep reaching out to Him.

And as you do, listen intently. His answer may be subtly disguised in the happenings of your daily experiences.

God is indeed always speaking. The question is,

Are we listening?

“Christians Are Against Science”

I’ve heard a lot of people say that Christians are against science.

And that we can’t believe in science if we also believe in God.

However, this is nothing but a misunderstanding.

Science is also one of God’s creations.

It is the study of the natural world and the laws that govern it.

And it is simply a tool that helps us understand how the world works.

Faith, on the other hand, is the belief in God and His plan for our lives.

And what most people don’t realize is that faith and science can coexist.

The Bible tells us that “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1) and science helps us understand how and when that happened.

For example, the evolution theory helps us understand species’ development on earth.

While the Bible tells us that God is the creator of everything.

Both faith and science can be used to understand the beauty and complexity of God’s creations.

Another critical aspect of the relationship between faith and science is in the area of ethics.

Science helps us understand the natural world and the consequences of our actions.

But it is our faith that guides us in making moral decisions based on the teachings of God.

The Bible tells us “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40).

People should continue to evolve according to God’s Will and help one another.

Science is simply a tool for that.

And we are not against it like most atheists think.

To make a long story short, science helps us understand how things work.

While faith helps us understand why they exist in the first place.

Together, they can give us a deeper understanding of the world and our place in it.

So let us continue to explore the world around us, with the guidance of our faith and the understanding provided by science.

Together, we can work to fulfill the purpose that God has for our lives and make a positive impact on the world.

This Is Pulling You Away From God’s Path

Who is the biggest enemy of Christianity?

Is it atheism?

Is it other religions?

No, the biggest enemy of Christianity is distraction.

Distraction is everywhere.

In our smartphones.

In the media.

Even in our thoughts.

Many have wandered away from the flock, lured by the shiny lustre of materialism, quick gratification, and worldly pleasures.

But fear not my Christian friends.

For our God is a loving shepherd who will guide us back to His path if we are willing to follow.

To stay firmly rooted in our faith, we need to cultivate a relationship with God that is built on trust and communication.

This means setting aside time each day for prayer, Scripture study, and quiet reflection.

As we do this, we are opening our hearts to hear God’s voice while building a solid foundation that can withstand the storms.

Our community plays a crucial role in keeping us grounded as well.

As we gather together in worship, fellowship, and service, we are reminded of our shared mission to be the light of Christ in the world.

We can support one another, pray for one another, and hold each other accountable as we strive to walk in God’s path.

It is also essential that we make a conscious effort to filter out the noise of the world.

This doesn’t mean we should bury our heads in the sand.

But rather, we must learn to discern what is truly important and what is merely a distraction.

By staying informed and engaged, we can make wise decisions that are rooted in our faith, and live in a way that serves God.

God is with us every step of the way.

This is how he aids us in resisting temptation.

He will support us if we let Him.

And He will give us the strength to stay on the path He has laid out for us.

So let’s resist distraction, follow God’s guidance, praise Jesus, and journey together toward the Lord’s eternal kingdom.

Why Being A Christian Takes Strength

The world we live in often celebrates strength and power.

We admire those who can overcome obstacles, push through challenges, and come out victorious.

But when it comes to our Christian walk, we are asked to embrace a different kind of strength

One that requires vulnerability and humility.

Many people think that being a Christian is just about following rules and avoiding fun or pleasure.

And yet, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

You see, being a Christian is about recognizing our own imperfections and weaknesses, and admitting that we need God’s grace and forgiveness.

To confess our sins and admit our shortcomings, we must be willing to be vulnerable.

This is not a sign of weakness, but rather, a testament to our strength.

It takes immense courage to bare our souls before God and others, revealing the parts of ourselves that we’d rather keep concealed.

In a world that often rewards bravado and self-sufficiency, this kind of vulnerability can feel incredibly counterintuitive.

But as Christians, we know that our true strength comes not from ourselves, but from our loving and merciful God.

When we confess our sins and share our struggles, we are taking a brave step toward spiritual growth.

We are allowing ourselves to be molded by God’s loving hands, transformed by His grace, and guided by His wisdom.

And in the process, we are deepening our relationship with our Creator and becoming more like Christ.

This journey isn’t one we must embark upon alone.

Our community plays a vital role in supporting and encouraging us as we strive to embrace authenticity and vulnerability.

Together, we can help one another stay accountable, uplift each other in prayer, and give a shoulder to lean on during times of struggle.

So let’s embrace the strength that comes from vulnerability.

Let us be bold in confessing our sins and admitting our need for God’s grace.

And as we do, let us remember that our true strength lies not in our own abilities,

But in the boundless love and mercy of our Heavenly Father.

How Your Faith in Christianity Can Make Your Heart Stronger

We, as followers of Christ, have an incredible fortress at our disposal…

Our faith.

We’ve been taught not to be anxious, but to let our worries be known to God through prayer and supplication.

In doing so, a peace that surpasses any understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

One of our greatest tools for combating anxiety is forgiveness.

Holding onto grudges is proven to increase our stress levels, which can detrimentally impact our heart health.

On the other hand, forgiveness, a cornerstone of our faith, can reduce this stress and encourage a peaceful state of mind.

Forgiveness is not just about absolving others of their wrongdoings.

It’s about freeing ourselves from the chains of resentment that bind us, chains that place undue stress on our hearts.

When we forgive, we create an environment of peace and love within us, which promotes improved physical health.

Jesus Himself set the greatest example of forgiveness on the cross.

In the midst of pain and betrayal, He chose to forgive.

His words, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing,” echo in our hearts, reminding us of the power and necessity of forgiveness.

Practicing forgiveness is not always easy. It requires humility and strength.

But it’s important to remember that we’re not alone in this process.

We can always seek God’s help in prayer, asking Him to give us the strength to forgive just as He forgives us.

As we practice forgiveness, we are guarding our hearts from the potential effects of stress and anxiety.

Let us continue walking God’s path, and enjoy the health benefits along the way.

How “Turning The Other Cheek” Can Keep Your Heart Healthy

It’s a teaching everyone’s heard before

“If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also.“ (Luke 6:29)

This simple, yet profound saying can have incredible benefits if we truly understand what it means.

More specifically, it can contribute to the well-being of our hearts.

You will see how in a minute.

No matter where we look nowadays, we are bombarded with situations that evoke negative emotions.

An offensive comment, a misunderstanding, an argument, the list goes on.

Responding to these situations with anger and resentment can seem natural.

But what most people don’t realize is that getting angry does more harm than good.

Scientists have found that individuals who frequently experience anger are more prone to heart disease.

Anger induces physiological stress, raising blood pressure, accelerating heart rate, and triggering inflammation.

In other words, anger places a heavier burden on the heart.

This is why people who can’t control their emotions experience frequent strokes.

How does “turning the other cheek” factor into this?

When we choose to let go of our anger and resentment, to “turn the other cheek,” we essentially reduce the harmful impact of these negative emotions on our systems.

We reduce our stress levels, blood pressure, and decrease inflammation.

The more I reflect on this, the more it makes sense.

Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek not just for the sake of our spiritual health, but also for our physical well-being.

He truly wants what’s good for us in every aspect of our existence.

Does this mean we should let others walk over us? Of course not. We must stand firm in our convictions and uphold what is right.

However, it means that we should strive to react to provocations with a spirit of forgiveness, rather than anger and resentment.

We should trust in God to handle our battles and take care of our hearts, both physically and spiritually.

So, the next time you find yourself in a stressful situation, remember the wisdom of Jesus’s teaching to turn the other cheek.

Your heart will thank you for it.

The Real Reason God Works In Mysterious Ways

Someone once asked me, “If God knows everything, why doesn’t He just tell us?”

It was a good question.

Knowing everything would make things much easier.

We would know when we’d pass away, how to solve everything in our journeys, and there wouldn’t ever be any surprises.

However, this would quickly become dull, wouldn’t it?

If we know everything, then what’s the point?

It’s like when people’s childlike wonder phases away as they become adults.

When you are a child, everything is exciting.

As you find out more and more about the world around you, everything fascinates you.

You want to see different places and cultures, and meet different people.

However, this ends at some point.

As children become adults, they don’t have the same interest in exploring.

Their journeys feel dull compared to when they were kids.

That is because adults usually feel like there are not a lot of mysteries left to solve.

Especially nowadays, you can find out anything you want, simply by pressing a few buttons on your smartphone.

This is why we should embrace the fact that God works in mysterious ways.

That means recognizing that there are things we don’t know, and that’s okay.

We should have a sense of wonder and awe in the face of uncertainty, and find joy in our journeys.

God’s mystery is also an essential element of faith.

If everything was known and predictable, faith would cease to exist.

Faith is about believing in something greater than ourselves, even if we cannot fully comprehend it.

It is about trusting in God’s plan for our journeys, even if we don’t understand the reasons behind the events we experience.

This challenges us to grow and develop as Christians.

And it pushes us to ask questions, seek answers, and deepen our understanding of the world around us.

With every difficulty we face, we learn and grow in ways we wouldn’t if everything were easy and predictable.

Think about every uncertainty you are currently going through.

Instead of despairing, embrace the mystery.

And regain your childlike wonder.

So enjoy the ride and trust that God is guiding you every step of the way.

Why Being A Christian Helps You Live Longer

God brought an interesting nugget of wisdom my way recently.

And I am delighted to be telling you this.

The Bayes Business School in England observed people who live in almshouses.

These are institutions that provide housing for the poor and elderly.

They analyzed 100 years of data, and they found that the residents in these communities live two-and-a-half years longer than their counterparts in the wider population.

Why do these people live longer even though they are usually more poor and have fewer comforts?

Well, the answer is quite simple.

And it goes to show how our God cares for us even in ways that are not obvious.

The real reason these folks live longer is because they interact with each other daily.

And this is something that we also do as Christians.

In our Christian churches, we are more than individuals living in proximity.

We are a family, bound by our faith, love for each other, and commitment to mutual support.

This collective, grounded in shared experiences and mutual empathy, forms a shield against loneliness and isolation

Elements known to be detrimental to our physical and mental well-being.

Our communities are living embodiments of “love thy neighbor,” a command that’s not just about morality but health too.

When we care for one another and provide emotional support, we are actively contributing to our own health and longevity.

This study underscores the importance of companionship, showing how the power of a Christian community can significantly enrich our paths and extend them.

While the study’s context might be specific, its message is universal.

It helps us recognize and embrace the power of our faith.

So let us continue praying, going to church, and strengthening our bonds with our Christian brothers and sisters.

A Necessary Reminder To Christians

I look around lately, and I am disappointed.

Disappointed in how the media is always talking about doom and gloom…

Disappointed in how pessimistic everyone has become…

And disappointed in how people have forgotten that their lives are a gift from God.

As Christians, we have to remind everyone (and ourselves) that no matter how bad things might seem, we always have things to be grateful for.

We are blessed with the love and grace of God, and that alone is something to keep us going.

We have a purpose and a plan, and we can trust that God is guiding us on our journey.

As the Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I am conscious of my thoughts about you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope at the end..”

We also have the gift of salvation, which will forever give us hope.

As the Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

We have the ability to forgive and be forgiven.

We have food to eat, a roof over our heads, and the love and support of our family and friends.

It’s easy to take these things for granted, but when we pause to reflect on them, we realize how truly blessed we are.

It’s important to remember that we are not alone in our struggles. God is always with us and He is in control.

He has a plan for our lives and we can trust that He will see us through any hardship.

So, let’s take a moment to give thanks for the blessings in our lives.

Say it with me:

“Thank you, Lord, for everything you have given me.”

Let’s be grateful for the small things, as well as the big things.

And let’s be a light in this world, proving good morale and support in these trying times.

Say This Prayer To Acquire Abundance (Takes 30 Seconds)

Matthew 7:7 says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

The Lord helps those who ask for help.

When we are faced with difficulties, we should always seek guidance.

God knows what’s best for us.

But it’s up to us to reach out to Him and receive His gracious help.

If you want to acquire wealth and prosperity, then before you do anything else, you should first ask for it.

Let us say this prayer together:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You in humble gratitude for the blessings and provisions You have given me. I acknowledge that everything I have comes from You, and I am deeply thankful for Your love and generosity.

I ask, Lord, that You guide me in making wise decisions, and help me to be a faithful steward of the resources You have entrusted to me.

Teach me to prioritize Your Kingdom and to use my wealth for Your glory. Let me be a channel of Your blessings, sharing Your love and goodness with those around me.

I claim Your promises of abundance and prosperity, trusting that You will provide for my needs according to Your riches in glory. Help me to walk in faith and obedience as I seek to align my actions with Your plans and purposes.

Amen.”

You might be wondering, why does this prayer work?

There is nothing special about it

Anyone could have thought of it.

But that’s the point!

It’s not what you say.

It’s how you feel when you say it.

The key lies in the goodness in our hearts.

When we pray with sincerity, faith, and gratitude, we make ourselves receptive to the blessings He has in store for us.

This prayer works as a tool to remind us that God is our provider and that we should be faithful stewards of His resources.

God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is flawless.

Sometimes, the blessings may not come in the way we expect or when we expect them, but God always knows what’s best for us.

We must always remain grateful for the blessings He bestows upon us.

Cultivate a heart of thankfulness for everything that God has given you.

And you’ll find that your faith and trust in Him will grow, paving the way for the miraculous to take place.

May your prayers lead to abundant blessings.
