9 Beautiful Prayers asking for Forgiveness

Love is the one true reason why God insists that all of his children must forgive one another, as well as themselves, for all of our sins.

If you are familiar with Romans 5:18, God reminds us that we are sinners; you see, God demonstrated His unconditional love through the sacrifice Jesus Christ willingly took for all of us, and because of our sins.

Yes, God understands that we are all flawed people, and because of our flaws we can grow and become better people if we can ask to be forgiven, and also to forgive those that have hurt us, and with that said, if you are seeking forgiveness from the Lord, one of the below prayers may help you speak to God.

Also, I found this wonderful prayer on YouTube that I’d love for everyone reading this to listen to when they have time; it makes me really happy to see fellow people of faith spending their time bringing Christian prayers to life in such creative ways!

So please, when you have time, click here to enjoy this inspirational prayer!

Act of Contrition

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you, whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, To do penance, sin no more, And avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy. Amen.

Romans 12: 18-21

Father, I offer to You my deepest prayers. Against the works of the enemy, please guide me. For instance, I ask of You to guide me as I turn my cheeks when my enemies slap me. Because of Your Ways, I ask of You to heal my heart at times it is being tested. With this, I ask that You accept this prayer for forgiveness. In Your Grace, I am protected, loved, and saved. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.

Matthew 5:39-41

Lord Jesus Christ, You are the lamb of God; You take away the sins of the world. Through the Grace of the Holy Spirit restore me to friendship with The Father, cleanse me from every stain of sin in the blood You shed for me, and raise me to new life for the glory of Your name. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

1 John 1:9

Creative Talk to God Road Sign

Lord, Merciful Father, I have sinned against You. Because of my human desires, I caused You pain. Because of the temptations I followed, I wronged You. Father, I confess all of my lapses to You. I do this for one thing and that is for Your forgiveness. I do not wish to live a life opposite to Your Words. Most importantly, I do not want to stray away from Your Holy Presence. Father, take my apologies and gratitude in hopes of purifying all my sins. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.

Luke 15:18, Psalm 51:3-4

Lord, for days I kept my mouth shut, my heart closed and my eyes ignorant to Your Mercy. Therefore, I am seeking Your acceptance in granting me another day of growth and repentance. Undoubtedly, I say with faith that Jesus is my Savior and my Refuge. Through Your Grace, I walk in the path of love and compassion. With You, security and protection strive within my days. I pray for a season of forgiveness so I may walk in accordance with Your Will. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.

Psalm 103: 10-14

Merciful Father, as Your Son paid the price of our sins, He lovingly asked for forgiveness towards all mankind as they do not know what they are doing. Father Almighty, because of this, I am confessing my sins in my thoughts, words, and actions. As well as the sins of my brother and sisters, I am asking for Your Mercy in granting us forgiveness as we live our lives on Earth. I pray, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer for Forgiveness

Lord Jesus, I come before you today feeling quite low. As I consider my mistakes, the ways I have sinned against you and others, my heart breaks to see my actions in the mirror of my conscience, and I feel lost.

When I remember the love you have for us, it deepens my grief for what I have done, and I wish I could take it all back.

I know the only way is forward, however. To move in that direction, I desperately need your forgiveness. May your mercy wash me of all my sins and cleanse my heart of evil desires. Your willingness to die on the cross provides me confidence that, if I ask to be forgiven, you will give me this gift.

And once I have freedom from my sin, keep me safe from future temptations and strengthen my heart and resolve to choose what is right. Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice that affords me another chance. Amen.

Micah 7:18

Because of You, I rest completely at night and wake up renewed in the morning. Due to Your Sacrifice, my sins are forgotten and forgiven. Because of Your Love, my enemies cannot drag me down. Therefore, Lord, I ask that you give me power to endure and learn how to forgive others. Merciful Lord, remind me of Your Love so that I won’t seek hate in my heart. Please accept my prayer for forgiveness towards others and myself. May You bless me with understanding and empathy so that the downfall of my enemies won’t give me joy. Lord, may I help them as we walk together in Your Ways. I pray. Amen.

Luke 23:34

in the name of Jesus, the sins of the people were set free. Still, I wake to commit actions that are sinful and wrong in Your Eyes. Additionally, I wake to live my days away from Your Words and I stray away from the teachings You set out for the world. However, Lord, I do not wish to live my life away from Your Grace. I confess my sins to You and I am asking for forgiveness as you cleanse my heart and keep me close to Your presence O’ dear God of Wisdom. I pray, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

If you are in need of forgiveness then I hope that just reading these prayers can help you achieve what you are searching for.

I would love to know what your favorite prayers of forgiveness may be, so please share them with me if you have time to do so!

Christians Will Be Shocked By This Error In The Bible

It All Started with Dr. Benet’s Dangerous Discovery…

In 1939, Dr Sula Benet found an apparent error in the bible: A mistranslated word that according to Benet, revealed the lost recipe to God’s healing oil.

Unprecedented Healing…

Those who have used this oil, including many non-Christians have reported almost “miracle healing”… including relief from arthritis, autoimmune disease, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, prostate issues, alzheimer’s, heart disease… and 51 other deadly condition – see the PROOF in this video.

Why It Might Change What It Means To Be A Christian…

For many Christians, this biblical breakthrough goes against everything they’ve ever believed… and they are torn, because this lost secret heals like nothing they’ve ever seen… so they have to choose between their old beliefs, or their pain.

How The US Government Is Taking Control…
The government has never been shy about protecting its interests, including PAC’s, the IRS, big pharma, and left wing agendas. And congress is aware of this breakthrough, in fact, they recently took out a patent on it, and now control the fate of this “ancient healing technology”.

  2. Thank you for taking the time to compile and share these scriptures and prayers. 🙏🏼 The last part of your post is quite alarming about the malware. You know, while we are so busy fighting each other and bickering about nonsense, the enemy is smiling and striking while it’s hot, and we seem to be non the wiser. Thank you and bless you! 🤗💖🥰 Let’s hope we can quickly get a grip on reality.

  3. Forgiving one another is beneficial for ourselves, and it teaches us that God can put anything away when we come to him in prayer.

  4. This one was the one I grew up with, and living in Palm Beach we knew who the “miserable offenders” were:
ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore thou those who are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, To the glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

    1. God never sinned. But I challenge you, Read the book of Psalms and listen to how David describes God. Open your heart to the words, because this world we’re living in was prophesied by the Prophets of the Old Testament and by Jesus Christ. All of the prophecy which have ocurred were 100% accurate. And, there is no other Christian or Religious book that has prophesied what is going on in our world today. I do hope you take me up on the challenge because I believe time is growing very short. But it’s your decision.

I had a vision a year ago about this global food shortage and I told everyone I came into contact with to stock up. My latest dream tells me something is coming, get prepared, lay low, because many will be caught off guard. I have a feeling it’s going to be BIG! Got you in my prayers…many, many blessings to you.

      1. 💜 YOU!!! Presume and ASS-U-ME too much making an ASS Out of U and ME because I Have Already read 📚 several versions of The Bible robindd4l; the only thing all these versions have in common is that “God” is a Mischief Maker just like Most Men like Me who ARE Single because “Goddess” won’t put up with that Mischief…the other Religions like Islam ☪️, Allah and Virgins in Paradise is a Conversation for another time; ergo FREE WILL!!! vs OBEY ME!!! Seems to be One of “Gods” Mischief Making, My Marvellous Mother Quit Christianity in The Name of Jesus who was NEVER!!! a Christian ✝️ and Now Believes that Jesus was Simply a Special Person NOT!!! The Son of “God” She also admitted The Contradiction-In-Terms between the Old and New Testaments then Decided The New Testament, a Loving “God” CORRECTS!!! The Old Testament, a vengeful “God”

  6. Thanks for sharing. My prayer is our leaders, both religious and non-religious, can act and speak as if they are among our better angels and not our worst demons. To me, it is poor stewardship when they act and speak like we tell our kids not to.

My prayer is we can civilly disagree with one another and not hold grudges if we cannot find agreement. My prayer is we can be the best version of ourselves and treat people like we want to be treated. We are an imperfect lot and we all sin. So, let’s not forget that and do our best to learn from our mistakes.

I recognize this is not a biblical prayer, I just feel we have lost our way and we need to act better than we are. Thanks for asking, Keith

  7. Thanks so much! Really enjoyed–particularly #2: often our enemies are not just the individual people that we know and who don’t like us, but a godless society as a whole (such as the left wing here in America). Sometimes it’s honestly difficult not to “hate” these people (even though I don’t know them personally); they stand in direct opposition to the LORD, and they always seem to get away with it. The challenge for us is that they’re our enemies that we should be praying for; the LORD desires that all people everywhere should be saved, that also needs to be our desire as well!

  8. Great post! I love these prayers. I’ll be using them myself. But I am a bit worried about Russian malware in America. Those guys are the greatest hackers on this earth. If they want they can cripple the entire energy distribution of the country. I hope it never happens.

  11. Hi Christian: God bless you today with His very best Love and Light and Spirit and good health and happiness and joy and peace and eternal life. A comment about “prayer and forgiveness” that is based on Jesus’ own words on that very important subject comes from Matthew 6. May I just post a link here to His words — since He is our Teacher and we are all brothers? https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+6&version=ESV

  12. 💜 What Puzzles Me is The Diversity of Religion EveryOne; does anyone have an explanation as to why EveryBody 🤔 ? For example Richard (Christian) and Saladin (Muslim) were, eventually, 🙄 friends while today Muslims ☪️ and Christians ✝️ consider each other ENEMIES!!! and TERRORISTS!!!

  13. In one of your prayers you asked for a “season of forgiveness “. I affirm you and stand with you. I believe God is asking and offering us an opportunity to soberly confess and repent. We know the God’s forgiving grace is more than enough to cover us and cleanse us.

Keep up the good and thoughtful posts. And thank you for liking one of my posts!

  14. I probably should include the other General Confession I was raised with, this one from the Holy Communion:
ALMIGHTY God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things, Judge of all men; We acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness, Which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed, By thought, word, and deed, Against thy Divine Majesty, Provoking most justly thy wrath and indignation against us. We do earnestly repent, And are heartily sorry for these our misdoings; The remembrance of them is grievous unto us; The burden of them is intolerable. Have mercy upon us, Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; For thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, Forgive us all that is past; And grant that we may ever hereafter Serve and please thee In newness of life, To the honour and glory of thy Name; Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  17. Your post was awesome filled with good stuff. Let me propose this, we are never to give offensive people a pass. Forgiveness should always have an apologetic tone from then offender. You could be enabled sinners to continue sin. You can create a place of accountability so that God can reveal to the offender the error of their ways and cause them to be contrite and genuine in their apology
