Powerful Christmas Movies and Prayers ALL Christians Can EnjoY

With Thanksgiving now over, it’s time to digest that turkey and pumpkin pie, and get ready to sit down with the entore family to enjoy Christmas movies that the whole family can enjoy together.

I asked all of my Christian friends and family members the past few days what is their favorite movie to watch during the Christmas season, and below are the movies that came up the most.

Please let me know if any of the movies below have made your list of Christmas favorites.

1 – It’s a Wonderful Life

I really love this “old” Christmas classic, but it can be a slight bit boring for the younger kids, so make sure to serve some hot chocolate while watching this black and white holiday delight.

2 – A Christmas Story

Honestly, not one of my favorites, not sure why really, but my friends and family all love it, so I have to go with the popular vote on this one to make it number 2 on my list.

3 – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

When I was little this was my favorite, but it;s kind of lost it’s lustre over the years, but again, my loved ones and freinds disgagree with me and really love this Chevy Chase classic.

4 – The Santa Clause

-Now we are talking! I grew up with this Tim Allen classic, and it’s number 2 on my list even though it only broke the top 5 on this list.

5 – Home Alone

This is by far and away my favorite Christmas movire of all time, and not sure how it only made it to number 5 on this list.

6 – A Christmas Carol (Mickey Mouse cartoon)

I don;t ever remember seeing this movie, so I think I’m going to give ot a shot this weekend!

7 – Christmas with the Cranks

Another awesome Tim Allen Christmas movie that I really enjoy watching during the holidays!

Powerful Christian Prayers for Christmas

Christmas Morning Prayer

Lord, as we enjoy this Christmas morning I ask that You would be with us. That we would experience Your presence in a special way today. I pray that the joy of this season would fill our hearts and that we would remember the reason for the holiday. I pray that we would all be drawn closer to each other and to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Best Short Christmas Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. We praise You for His birth and the hope that He brings to our lives. As we celebrate His birth, help us to also remember Your great love for us. Let this Christmas season, be a reminder of all He has done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christmas Prayer to Remember Jesus’ Birth

Lord Jesus, as we celebrate Your birth, help us to remember why You came into the world. You came to save us from our sin and give us eternal life. Thank You for coming down from heaven and becoming one of us. Help this be the center of our Christmas celebration. We praise You for Your great love! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christmas Prayer for Hope

Lord, during this Christmas season we are in need of Your hope. The world can be such a dark place and we so easily get caught up in all the negative that is going on. But, Jesus You are our hope! You came into the world to save us from our sin and give us eternal life. I pray that during this holiday season people would come to know You as their personal Savior. That Christmas time would bring on a whole new meaning for them. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Christmas Prayer about Christ

Heavenly Father, my heart’s desire is to make sure that Christmas is all about Your Son, Jesus. That His birth would be the center of our celebration and that people would come to know Him as their personal Savior. I pray that during this holiday season people would be drawn to You and come to understand the great love You have for us. Let’ this holiday season bring You glory and praise. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Prayer for Christmas Joy

Jesus, as we celebrate Your birth, I pray that our hearts would be filled with joy. That this holiday season would be a time of happiness and love. A time where we remember all the good times we’ve had together and look forward to many more to come. Thank You for my family and friends. I pray that we would all be drawn closer to each other and to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christmas Prayer for Peace

Heavenly Father, I pray that during this holiday season people would experience Your peace. That in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, they would take time to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life. And most importantly, that they would remember the reason for the season – Your wonderful Son , Jesus. I pray that people would come to know Him as their personal Savior and have eternal life in Your kingdom. In His name we pray, Amen.

The other thing I’d like to comment is that I tried to visit your blog yesterday while I was logged in to Word Press – and McAfee — my security software – warned me that my browser was attempting to visit an unsafe site. I then tried clicking on other “The Christian Tech Nerd” posts – and each time I did so, a warning from McAfee appeared on my screen. Then, I tried clicking on other people’s blogs in the same list of Word Press blogs – and no warnings from McAfee appeared. So, I just want to let you know about this to be helpful to you.   4. Mickey’s Christmas Carol came out when I was five. (You can look it up to see how old I am now… sorry to break the illusion that I’m young and hip.) I fell in love with the whole concept of A Christmas Carol immediately! I still feel like Mickey and the crew captured the spirit of the book better than any other adaptation I’ve ever seen.

  11. I’ve seen all of the movies except the Mickey Mouse version of A Christmas Carol. It’s a Wonderful Life and The Santa Clause are tied for me at #1. Another of my favorites that didn’t make your list is Elf.
