President Biden Committed to Legalized Abortion

I don’t know if you’ve already read this article below, but I thought I should share with as many Christians and non Christians because I am an EXTREMELY Pro Life Christian woman and I HATE abortion…I’m very sympathetic to women that have chosen to get an abortions because I truly believe they felt lost or scared or had no other option…I blame the lawmakers of our country for not giving these lost souls better counseling options to help them make better choices…anyway, enough of my rambling…

President “Sleepy” Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris each released statements on the new Texas law, which requires doctors to check for a fetal heartbeat and prohibits an abortion if one is detected. It allows exceptions for medical emergencies.

An unborn baby typically has a heartbeat around six weeks into a pregnancy.

The comments by Biden and Harris came hours before the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, declined to block the law. Abortion rights groups in Texas say the law impacts about 85 percent of abortions.

“This extreme Texas law blatantly violates the constitutional right established under Roe v. Wade and upheld as precedent for nearly half a century,” Biden said in a statement. “The Texas law will significantly impair women’s access to the health care they need, particularly for communities of color and individuals with low incomes. … My administration is deeply committed to the constitutional right established in Roe v. Wade nearly five decades ago and will protect and defend that right.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Biden will “continue to call for the codification of Roe.”

The law’s unique structure has made it difficult to challenge in court by abortion-rights groups. Instead of requiring state officials to enforce the law — as is always the case — the law leaves enforcement up to private citizens. The law allows a citizen to sue anyone who “performs or induces an abortion” or “knowingly engages in conduct that aids or abets the performance or inducement of an abortion.”

The law allows civil damages of at least $10,000 for each suit.

Death Threats Prompt Removal of ‘Ignore Roe’ Billboard in Texas

A Pro-life Billboard in rural Texas was recently taken down one day after it was put up because the landowner received death threats.

Abolish Abortion Texas (AATX), a group of pro-life Christians, had designed the billboard featuring the phrase “62 million and counting,” followed by the website “IgnoreRoe.com.” No graphic imagery of abortions was included.

On Monday, the billboard went up outside Boyd, Texas, as a means to encourage people to “ignore” the Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling on Roe v. Wade, which provided legal access to abortion nationwide.

The following day, however, the sign was removed after the landowner received “complaints” and “death threats,” which “forced the advertising company to remove” it. It is unknown as to how many death threats and complaints the landowner received.

Jon Speed, the fund coordinator of the pro-life campaign, noted in a press release that the matter demonstrated “how intolerant Texas has become.”

Speed, who also serves as pastor of missions and evangelism for First Baptist Church of Briar, told Faithwire that the billboard had “no graphic images” nor did it feature a “strong statement.”

“It’s just a website that seeks to abolish abortion in Texas,” he continued. “The fact that this happened in rural Texas is not only surprising in a self-professed pro-life state, it indicates how weak that commitment is.”

Last month, Gov. Greg Abbott signed a so-called “trigger-bill” allowing the Lone Star state to strongly limit or outlaw abortion altogether if the Supreme Court were to overturn Roe V. Wade.

Speed, however, expressed disbelief in Abbott and other conservative lawmakers to support his pro-life cause.

Barronelle Stutzman Testifies That God’s Promises Can Be Trusted

The Supreme Court had declined to pick up the case of Barronelle Stutzman in the Arlene’s Flowers lawsuit. As a result, she now faces the full consequences of the decisions of the lower court in the State of Washington. It has been an eight year legal battle for Barronelle since she took a stance against gay marriage as a business owner. She stood for what she believed about marriage and was not vindicated by the courts.

The case, now in its latest development, has shown a significant nuance in legal culture in America. The court has shown a repeated willingness to defend Christian institutions, pastors, and religious organizations who hold to their deeply held beliefs. But Barronelle’s case demonstrates that religious freedom is being lost, not by organizations and people in pastoral roles, but in the rights of parishioners and individuals to order their public lives according to their beliefs, especially in the world of commerce.

It is clear we Christians owe Barronelle a debt of gratitude as she has demonstrated that it is possible to stand for truth and goodness, and how to do it. On this week’s Strong Women podcast, Barronelle spoke with co-hosts Sarah Stonestreet and Erin Kunkle about her case. She offered her perspective not only on what it has meant for her to stand for truth, but to do it right: by loving her persecutors, and ultimately relinquishing all to God. Below is an excerpt of Barronelle Stutzman’s interview on the Strong Women podcast:

I absolutely love Rob and I would wait on him for another 10 years if he came in [to the store]. He has a great sense of humor and he loves artistic things, and he would come in and say, “This [arrangement] is for Kurt’s birthday, and this is what I’m thinking … Now just do your thing, just create.”

And I absolutely love that because I do a lot of “bread and butter” work, as they call it in the floral business. But he let me use my artistic ability to make something different and unique. And we had a great time. We got along awesome until the government stepped in. And I miss him.
